The Byzantine and Christian Museum was founded in 1914 and houses a vast collection of exhibits of frescoes, scripts, fabrics, everyday artifacts and pictures from the 3rd century AD to the late medieval era focusing in the Byzantine society and art. During its 90th anniversary, the museum reopened after a renovation. It’s situated near the parliament in the palace of the Duchess of Pleisance. The museum recently extended its courtyard with a beautiful garden. Its café is considered one of the most beautiful museum cafes in Athens. Events are being held throughout the whole year.
