Founded in 1919, the Huntington Library, Art Collections and Botanical Gardens is a wonderful space for literature, art, and nature in the Los Angeles area. Famous books, historical letters, and original manuscripts are the basis for the library; the Huntington’s art collection includes European and American works ranging from all the way from the Northern Renaissance until the 20th century pop art movement.

Besides its historical documents and art collection, the Huntington also has several themed botanical gardens. This gives the Huntington a unique contrast between its library documents, art collection, and scholarly research materials as opposed to the numerous gardens, such as the Japanese garden, visitors can explore outdoors.
