The National Museum of Contemporary Art was established in 2000. Located in Athens, the museum inhabited the former FIX brewery building until 2003; however, it is currently located in the Athens Conservatory while the FIX building is renovated. The permanent collection includes noted works by Greek and international artists from the 1950s until today including Stephen Antonakos, Chryssa, Mona Hatoum, Bill Viola, Vito Acconci, Marina Abramovic and Ulay, Robert Wilson, and Andreas Angelidakis. While the museum is currently only open for temporary exhibitions, it is still a must-see!
