National Gallery Singapore was opened in late 2015, making it a relatively recent addition to the art scene in Singapore. It is, however, central to the city’s agenda to become a global center for art, and more specifically, the housing and building of the largest collection of modern and contemporary art from Singapore and South East Asia. In addition to its growing collection, the National Gallery is committed to working with other leading global institutions to co-present South East Asian Art within a wider context.
