While architect Frank Gehry has designed several famous museums and buildings throughout the world, his most famous museum structure is most likely the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao. The large museum was built with a plan of bringing tourism and cultural interest to the declining industrialized Spanish city. Gehry’s architecture drew attention to the museum alongside its fabulous collection of modern and contemporary works by artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat. Bilbao’s hopes became reality and the museum not only became an economic engine for the city, but also a model for revitalization in other cities worldwide as well.
